Accolate uses: AccolateCategory:•Antiasthmatic, leukotriene receptor antagonist•Prophylaxis and chronic treatment of Asthma•Prophylaxis for seasonal allergic rhinitisDose: For asthma: 1. Adults and children 12 years of age and older—20 milligrams (mg) two times a day, on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. 2. Children between 7 and 11 years of age—10 milligrams two times a day, on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. 3. Children up to 7 years of age—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor. Food may change the amount of zafirlukast that is absorbed. For this reason, it should be taken on an empty stomach, 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.
